CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME
Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. Today I will talk about changes that could be made to my study program.
I am a second year student of Design at the University of Chile, the faculty to which I belong is Architecture and Urbanism. I entered the year 2020, unfortunately I had to start the university with the pandemic, so, so far in my career it has been completely online, with the exception of Project IV, which is currently the only course that I am taking in person. For the same reason it has been complicated for me to live the university life as it really should be and more in this career that the experience is more practical than theoretical in general.
Diseño has already changed their curriculum in both industrial design and graphic design.
I would like there to be a change in the organization of the work they send us to do and evaluations, since I have noticed that weeks go by without us being asked to do these and then we are left with work from different areas for the same week. This is why I think there should be a general calendar for all the subjects or something similar so that the teachers can organize among themselves with the evaluations.
The infrastructure of the faculty is quite old, but I don't really dislike it because I feel that it maintains the history of the architecture. But I do think that they should implement more spaces to work and use the implements. Besides, I think that the installation of new technologies would be very useful for the development of my career, especially for those who will choose to go for the industrial design side.
Finally, I think that the use of free ''Adobe'' programs should be facilitated, because even though there are open code options (such as InkScape or Gimp) or ''illegal'' download, in the future, in work contexts it is required to use ''Adobe'' programs and not other open code options. And it is also not the idea that the university encourages illegal downloading, being that it has the resources to provide the necessary programs to its students, which are also an important part of their university and work growth.
That's all for today, thanks for reading, bye!
